The Office of the Provost and Chief Academic Officer (OPCAO) provides administrative oversight for the schools, colleges, and academic support resources of Howard University. The Provost's network includes the following Schools and Colleges: Arts and Sciences, Business, Communications, Divinity, Education, Engineering, Architecture & Computer Sciences, Graduate School, Law, and Social Work, as well as the University Library System, the Moorland-Spingarn Research Center, the Ralph J. Bunche International Affairs Center, The Center for Excellence in Teaching, Learning, and Assessment, Continuing Education, the Student Affairs division, and the Offices of Enrollment Management, and Financial Aid.

The University's Strategic Framework for Action anchors all major activities implemented and supported by the OPCAO. The focal areas ... (more)

  3. increasing private support; and
  4. enhancing national and community service.

The OPCAO has established the following targets of opportunity for institutional achievement in alignment with SFA II:

  1. Increased access to and utilization of technology for students and faculty
    SFA II Goals 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 21, 30
  2. Expanded linkages and partnerships to encompass local, national and international initiatives
    SFA II Goals 18, 19, 20, 22, 23, 24, 31
  3. Acceleration of Howard University's research agenda
    SFA Goals 1, 2, 3, 15, 16
  4. Establishment and funding of multiple endowed chairs to recognize renowned scholars, researchers and leaders
    SFA II Goals 17, 20.
