HUDE 421. Seminar in Learning and Behavior Management. 3 crs. Treats reinforcement theory, techniques in classroom management, and behavior modification. Prereq.: HUDE 220 or HUDE 320.

HUDE 422. Computer Applications in Psychology and Education. 3 crs. Deals with computer techniques and their applications to research and evaluation, focusing on educational problems.

HUDE 423. Seminar: Testing and Evaluating Minority Groups. 3 crs. Involves applications of measurement principles in evaluating populations different from typical validation samples. Prereq.: HUDE 225.

HUDE 424. Topical Seminar: Human Development and Personality. 3 crs. Advanced study of the self, identity, conflict, and stress; special emphasis on concept derivation and theoretical bases. Prereq.: HUDE 227 or equivalent.

HUDE 428. Personality Assessment II. 3 crs. Develops skills in advanced analysis and integration of data from the major personality assessment instruments including writing complete psychological reports.

HUDE 430. Consultation in School Psychology: Theory and Practice. 3 crs. Covers issues in the use and application of consultation theories and techniques in an educational setting.

HUDE 432. Individual Assessment of Cognitive Abilities II. 3 crs. Advanced study of research on the techniques and reporting procedures for the psychological assessment of children.

HUDE 440. Vocational Theory in Counseling Psychology. 3 crs. Includes career choice development, theories, issues, and research, with emphasis on counseling and special populations. Prereq.: HUDE 242.

HUDE 441. Consulting in Counseling. 3 crs. Presents various theories of consultation in the context of the field of guidance and counseling.

HUDE 442. Research in Counseling Seminar. 3 crs. Examination of the problems of research in counseling and critique of current research in counseling and psychology.

HUDE 444. Group Processes in Interpersonal Relations. 3 crs. Didactic seminar which treats the history of group work, the different approaches to group psychotherapy, and participation in a process group. Prereq.: Permission of instructor.

HUDE 455. Issues and Trends in Measurement Theory. 3 crs. Advanced study of measurement theory together with the appraisal of measurement issues and trends in terms of their theoretical implications. Prereq.: HUDE 225.

HUDE 476. Group Counseling III. 3 crs. Involves a choice of emphasis in psychodrama, family counseling, or pastoral group counseling and co-leading two groups.

HUDE 490. Externship in Counseling Psychology. 3 crs. Provides supervised practice in facilities offering psychological services to clients; precedes the internship. Prereq.: Permission of adviser.

HUDE 500. Advanced Statistics. 3 crs. Continuation of HUDE 400, with emphasis on ANOVA, individual comparisons of means, power, probability, modal distributions, and multiple regression. Prereq.: HUDE 400.

HUDE 501. Design and Analysis of Research Projects I. 3 crs. Provides practical and theoretical research considerations and examines balancing, blocking, repeated measures, and mixed models. Prereq.: HUDE 500.

HUDE 502. Advanced Topics in Statistics and Multivariate Design. 3 crs. Study of advanced topics such as multiple regression analysis, factor analysis, multivariate design, and ATI-type designs; topics may vary each semester. Prereq.: HUDE 501.

HUDE 503. Directed Individual Study. 1-6 crs. Intensive, specialized study of a topic of individual interest under the guidance of a consenting faculty member in the department. Prereq.: Permission of instructor.

HUDE 509. Dissertation Research. 1-12 crs. Dissertation guidance for doctoral students. Prereq.: Admission to candidacy.

HUDE 520. Internship. 3-6 crs. Intensive field experience in a supervised setting, emphasizing research, clinical practice, or college teaching. Prereq.: Permission of instructor.

HUDE 521. Theories and Methods of Classroom Intervention. 3 crs. Focuses on the theory and procedures of school consultation, assisting with problems interfering with learning and adjustment. Prereq.: Permission of instructor.

HUDE 522. Integrative Seminar in Psychoeducational Studies. 3 crs. Designed to integrate previous course work and current professional developments in the field. Prereq.: Permission of instructor.

HUDE 540. Supervision of Counseling and Psychotherapy. 3 crs. Involves the advanced doctoral student’s supervision of beginning master’s level practicum; students focus on the development of skills in supervision, group leadership, and counselor training. Prereqs.: HUDE 344 and HUDE 490.

 HUDE 575. Group Counseling IV. 3 crs. Review of theoretical concepts and study of skills in supervision, teaching, consultation, and program planning as related to groups.
