Philosophy

All philosophy majors must complete at least 33 credit hours of philosophy courses, consisting of (a) four core courses: PHIL 175, Symbolic Logic; PHIL 110, Classical Ethics; PHIL 151, Metaphysics; PHIL 150, Epistemology; (b) at least three credit hours from each of the following groups: History of Philosophy; Comparative and Cultural Philosophy; Being; Knowledge and Language; Values. In addition, six to nine credit hours are required from senior courses including PHIL 200, Senior Seminar; PHIL 196, Senior Colloquium; PHIL 210, Senior Honors Thesis (optional).

Philosophy minors are required to complete 18 credit hours, consisting of the four core courses: PHIL 175, Symbolic Logic; PHIL 110 Classical Ethics; PHIL 151, Metaphysics; PHIL 150, Epistemology; one course from the History of Philosophy group and one course from any other group.
